How to Create the Ideal Clinic: Introducing Self-Pay Treatment and Choosing the Right Equipment

In this webinar, Dr. Takabatake delivered a presentation on the theme of “ Creating Your Ideal Clinic.” She covered how to create personas and develop concepts, and how to translate these into menu selection, staffing, and operational strategy. This highly practical content is invaluable for practitioners considering opening a clinic or transitioning to self-pay practices.

Define your clinic’s persona, and you’ll never be lost again (02:00 -)

When your personas are clearly defined, many operational decisions—such as the treatments offered, price points, and advertising methods—become straightforward. Conversely, if your personas are vague, facilities and service offerings tend to expand endlessly, leading to a loss of directional consistency.

Creating the Concept Is the Axis of Everything (04:10-)

I have established a policy to focus on “anti-aging care” and “acne treatment” as long-term, sustainable areas. Initial consultations are handled by specialized counselors, and treatment menus are primarily composed of procedures performed by nurses. By clearly defining this concept, location selection and pricing naturally fall into place.

Criteria for Determining Which to Introduce and Which Not (9:00 -)

Once the concept is established, it becomes clear which treatments to introduce and which to avoid. For example, thread lifts heavily depend on the practitioner’s skill level and are not suitable for my operational structure, so I do not offer them. Low-cost menu items like IVs and placenta therapy are avoided from an operational efficiency standpoint. Meanwhile, I focus on light therapy, peels, and Botox. These treatments allow patients to easily experience results and are highly compatible with nurse-administered procedures.

Reasons for Choosing DENSITY and Treatment Approach (11:30–)

I consider RF treatments to be highly reproducible due to minimal downtime and low dependence on physician skill. Light therapy easily improves overall facial appearance, while Botox yields consistent results regardless of technique. Both are readily implementable options when launching self-pay treatment. By building a treatment system aligned with the concept in this way, I am confident we can establish a clinic that remains a long-term choice without excessive burden.
