Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Laser Edge ONE|Features of the Fractional Mode

Thank you for visiting the website of Jeisys Medical Japan.
Many women are troubled by pores and wrinkles that do not improve despite care. The highly versatile Edge ONE can treat such patients.
CO₂ laser with 10,600nm wavelength can be used for ablation or transpiration of lesions as well as resurfacing treatment of acne scars, scars, and pore openings using Fractional Mode.
Dr. Hideaki Sato, Director of CLINICA BellaForma, will introduce the features of Edge ONE and its Fractional Mode of treatment.

Edge ONE (0:54~)

Edge ONE is a CO₂ laser at 10,600nm wavelength. It reduces burn risks to patients by lessening the heat effect on the surroundings and reducing damages, creating a more natural-looking result.
“Surgical Mode” and “Fractional Mode” can be selected according to the purpose of use.

Surgical Mode is used to remove warts and moles without a scalpel, which reacts to moisture and vaporizes the tissue.
Fractional Mode opens microscopic holes to induce new skin regeneration, leading to improved wrinkles, sagging, acne scars, and pores.

Features of Fractional Mode (1:59~)

Fractional Mode allows spot irradiation of 120, 350, and 800 micrometers. By changing the spot size, the depth of penetration into the tissue can be varied.
Three types of scan shapes make irradiation easier by selecting a shape for each area, such as square for flat cheeks, triangle for the nose, etc.
Available 4 beam patterns: Standard, irradiating one row at a time in sequence, Refresh, distributing heat evenly, and Random/Scatter. Irradiation methods include Stamp Mode and Moving Mode, combination possible.

While an unnatural grid-like reaction appears with Stamp Mode alone, a more natural irradiation border can be achieved along with Moving Mode.

Actual procedure (4:52~)

The laser reaches a depth through the dermis, but the fractional beam leaves epidermal healthy tissue to minimize downtime and speed up recovery.
When irradiated by the laser, fibroblasts in the area increase and collagen regeneration is promoted.
Use a smoke evacuator together with the smoke generated during laser irradiation, as it may contain bacteria, viruses, etc.

Case studies (8:22~)

A single treatment on the fine lines of the lower eyelid reduced wrinkles from 114 to 97 after two weeks.

※The video also shows cases of flat warts and post-burn scars. See that as well.

Summary

Edge ONE’s Fractional Mode offers the benefit of selectable beam size, scan shape, and beam pattern for easier treatment.
Treatment is also expected to improve wrinkles, acne scars, and pore size. The more satisfied patients are with the treatment, the more people will visit the clinic.
